DepEd, on its part, also recognized the need to free teachers from some of their tasks — especially those that are not directly related to teaching.DepEd, he explained, is looking into discussing with local government units to exclude teachers from activities initiated or organized by the local government.
“Masyadong maraming activities yung teachers on the ground, galing sa LGU for example, marami silang activities or participation kung saan kailangan nila lumahok sa LGUs ,” Poa said. “Ang direction is to talk to LGUs and see if pwede na i-excuse na yung ga guro natin sa ganyang activities (The direction is to talk to LGUs and see if it is possible to excuse our teachers from such activities,” he added.
