Dengue cases in 2020 nearly 50 percent lower than same time last year – DOH

“Ayon po sa surveillance report ng ating epidemiology bureau, ang kabuuang bilang nga mga kaso ng dengue ngayong taon ay 46 percent lower than the same time last year,” she added.According to Vergeire, the decrease in the number of cases may have been due to the increased awareness of the public amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Kaya upang mapanatili po itong lowering of cases, napaka halaga po talaga na hindi po tayo tumigil sa pag-obsreve ng preventive protocols,” she added.“Kahit nakikipaglaban po tayo sa COVID-19, wag po nating kakalimutan na meron pa ho tayong ibang mga sakit na nagiging karaniwan kapag naguumpisa na po ang tag-ulan…Ating alalahanin na ang dengue ay isa sa mga sakit na na nilalabanan natin nang ilang dekada na at ito po ay nakakamatay,” the DOH official said.
