Defining the News

Amid the allegations of corruption at the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board , a non-government organization has urged probers to also look into those who are involved in the alleged “lagayan” system at the agency.

This comes after LTFRB chairperson Teofilo Guadiz III was suspended after he was accused of allegedly receiving bribes from transport service provider Grab and other ride-hailing firms. The suspended LTFRB chief has denied the allegations and stressed that his conscience is clear and is ready to face any complaint.

Previously, Guadiz’s former aide Jeff Tumbado alleged that Guadiz delivered corruption money to higher-ups at the Department of Transportation and claimed that Guadiz told him two congressmen were also in on the collection of P5 million from transactions such as the opening of new routes or franchises.
