The Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court has granted jailed opposition Senator Leila de Lima a 3-day emergency furlough to rule out stroke, after"complaints of bouts of headache and persistent generalized weakness."
De Lima's on-call physician had"an impression that De Lima experienced mild stroke." To rule out stroke, De Lima was prescribed to undergo an immediate brain magnetic resonance imaging , which was not available at the Philippine National Police-General Hospital . The two courts handling her 2 drug charges signed off on the 3-day furlough, which will begin Saturday, April 23. The courts prohibited any media coverage or any interviews.De Lima would be taken to the Manila Doctor's Hospital at 10 am Saturday.
If the diagnosis requires longer confinement, De Lima's lawyers were required to submit a new motion, said branch 256 Judge Buenaventura.of 1 of the 3 charges. She has been detained since February 2017 or 4 years.
