Senator Ronald dela Rosa has filed a bill seeking to establish a forensic DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) database in the country to help in the investigation and expeditious resolution of crimes by providing a reliable method of identification.

Dela Rosa, author of Senate Bill No. 1577, or the Forensic DNA Database Act, said DNA technology has been scientifically proven to be an invaluable tool in the identification of a person and has been used in establishing the identity and prosecution of criminals.

Having a DNA database has other uses such as establishing paternity and other family relationships and the identification of disaster victims and missing persons, he added. Under the bill, the PNP Crime Laboratory shall be responsible for the general conduct, administration and management of the DNA database and shall ensure that DNA profiles and information are securely stored and remain confidential.

PNP can't be trusted with evidence. There are too many accounts of them planting it. Nobody who's in his or her right mind would trust the police force of the Philippines.

Lubog sa utang Pinas... Daming walang trabaho... Maraming gutom... Dadami crimes? 🙃

Marami din na close na crimes sa ibang bansa kasi recorded ang DNA ng mga kriminal. Pag umulit pwede na matrace gamit ung DNA nila..

Like sa US ata. Ok din pag may record na nasa database na para mas madali mahanap pag kulang evidence.

Pag kalbo, walang utak. Police planting evidence.
