Danny Javier on near-death experience in 2011: 'I have never been afraid of death'

The late OPM legend had been diagnosed with a slew of medical conditions: kidney failure, liver collapse, emphysema, pneumonia, hepatitis-A, congestive heart failure, and sepsis.

"Sabi nila, bad news is you only have 10 percent chance of survival," he said. "Binigyan nila ako ng gamot, naka-dextrose ako. I survived the first day. I lost 20 pounds all in all. But I was able to walk out of the hospital. I recovered." While he was battling for his life, Danny told himself: "If this is my time to go, it's my time to go.""I have never been afraid of death," he told Jessica Soho. "Kung hindi ka mamamatay, hindi ka nabuhay. Di ba? 'Yun talaga ang destination mo, e.""Hawak-hawak ko yung kamay ng anak ko.
