“Pagpunta namin sa buyer ng isda namin, sabi nag-stop buying na raw po kaya medyo nawalan na kami ng pag-asa sa mga natira naming isda,” sabi ng isang mangingisda. Sinabi ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources na tumigil muna ang mga canning factory sa pagbili ng tamban dahil sa tigil-operasyon ngayong Semana Santa.“Bago sila mag-stop buying, may schedule talaga itong mga processor ngayong holiday season ‘yung mga company na Thursday ay magsasara na. Na-inform na sila tungkol sa sitwasyon. Siyempre, babawasan ang requirement kaya nagkaroon siguro ng ganitong surplus,” sabi ni Ariel Pioquinto ng BFAR Bohol.
