A vacant lot in Sitio Bato-Bato in Barangay Dolores has, over several month, been transformed into a vegetable garden growing green leafy vegetables, vines and root crops.
Sitio Bato-Bato SK group leader Aldrin Calumpiano and his vice president, Georgie Balmes, told Manila Bulletin that the enhanced community quarantine restrictions prompted them to go into vegetable gardening, believing that growing vegetables can make them productive members of the youth sector. Among the vegetables they grow are green pepper, string beans, celery, kangkong, squash, and other vegetables included in the song, ‘Bahay Kubo’ , such as onion and radish.
