The Pasay City government announced that the curfew from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for children 17 years old and below is still in effect even if Metro Manila mayors lifted the rule on Nov. 4.

Metro Manila mayors signed a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority resolution on Nov. 2 lifting the curfew of midnight to 4 a.m. in the National Capital Region effective Nov. 4. MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos said the move will help the country open the economy.

Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered to retain the curfew hours for minors aged 17 years old and below to prevent them from loitering and roaming around the city. Pasay approved an ordinance in 2019 imposing a curfew on minors from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Rubiano said implementing the curfew for minors will help the city not only in controlling the spread of the COVID-19 virus but also preventing them from getting involved in any lawless activities. The Pasay Public Information Office posted the curfew on minors on its Facebook page.

The mayor was happy to note that in just one day after the city lowered the active COVID-19 cases to 90 on Nov. 3, the active cases decreased to 71 on Nov. 4 with zero deaths recorded.
