MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region slowed down on Sunday at 28.7 percent, said OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said.ADVERTISEMENT “The rapid increase in positivity rate in the NCR has slowed down, possibly due to a decrease in social and mass gatherings leading up to the New Year’s Eve,” said David through Twitter.FEATURED STORIES

“Due to lower testing output, this projects a decrease in new cases in the NCR on Jan. 3 to about 2,000 to 2,500, and 3,000 to 3,5000 new cases in the Philippines,” David further noted.amid the rising cases of COVID-19 in the region, as well as the positivity rate and reproduction number.nationwide, the highest since Oct. 24. In these cases, 4,584 or 99 percent were from Metro Manila.
