A Mandaluyong court has stopped for 72 hours the new cap on the number of motorcycle taxis.

Acting Executive Judge Ofelia Calo issued Monday a temporary restraining order against the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board’s new guidelines on the pilot run of motorcycle taxis, which sets aThe new LTFRB guidelines would have taken effect today.

The LTFRB Technical Working Group, which created the new guidelines, said it is now coordinating with the Office of the Solicitor General on how to move forward with the case. The ruling stems from the petition of Angkas bikers against the new LTFRB guidelines on the motorcycle pilot run, which the company said will leave 17,000 of its 27,000 bikers unemployed.
