Just like sugar and onions, the retail price of rice has also increased by P2 to P10 per kilo based on the latest monitoring of the Department of Agriculture .On Monday, August 8, 2022, the department said that based on its daily market watch, the retail price of special local commercial rice reached as high as P60 a kilo compared to the prevailing retail price of P50 per kilo on Friday, August 5.

Special rice is being sold at P50 to P52 per kilo at Pritil Market in Manila City; P45 to P48 a kilo for premium rice; P40 to P43 a kilo for well milled rice and P38 to P39 per kilo for regular milled rice.At Las Pinas Market, special rice is pegged at P50 per kilo; P42 to P46 per kilo for premium rice; P40 per kilo for well milled rice and P37 to P38 per kilo for regular milled rice.
