Coronel relishes being under De Guzman's tutelage

MANILA, Philippines — La Salle setter and national women's volleyball team rookie Julia Coronel could not help but relished being under the tutelage of PVL 8-time Best Setter and Alas Pilipinas team captain Jia De Guzman.More than learning technical skills, Coronel , 22, said that what she raves about De Guzman, 29, is her being a great motivator and being an approachable senior.

'Coronel will play back up to De Guzman as Alas Pilipinas competes in the AVC Challenge Cup slated from May 22 to 29 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.The national volleybelles led by coach Jorge Souza de Brito will open their campaign against Australia on May 23.De Guzman is likewise glad to be teammates with Coronel, praising how far she has come from being the setter at Colegio San Agustin in Makati to now playing for the national team.
