THE Department of Health on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, confirmed 1,509 new coronavirus infections, a new low in the last 44 days.
New cases per province/city also continued to go down with the highest reported at 83 in Rizal, followed by 82 in Cavite, 66 in the City of Manila, 65 in Baguio City and 57 in Iloilo City. Of these 60 new deaths, 45 occurred in October, seven in September and eight in August. About a third of the deaths were from the National Capital Region .
Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen and Cordillera reported one additional mortality each.Of the 1,509 reported cases Wednesday, 1,356 occurred within the recent 14 days from October 8 to 21.
