Authorities seized automatic rifles, ammunition, and a Mclaren sports car in a raid on a house of a Chinese national on Wednesday.The National Capital Region Police Office on Wednesday announced the arrest of 24-year-old Chinese national Haiqiang Su following a raid inside a posh subdivision in Barangay Bambang, Taguig City that yielded high-powered firearms, a hand grenade, and luxury cars.The authorities were also able to confiscate a caliber 5.
Also seized were a McLaren GTR sports car, one Honqi electric SUV, a sports bike, and an electric bike without proper documents, which were brought to the NCRPO’s anti-carnapping unit for investigation and verification. Later on the same day, two other persons identified as Jerry Mari Cheng and Zhuang Guangdong arrived at the Regional Special Operations Group compound inside the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa.Cheng handed over two black paper bags containing P3 million to Zhuang, who in turn approached a police officer and offered the money in exchange for the release of individuals under custody.
The RSOG officers rejected the offer and arrested Zhuang while Cheng managed to escape after handing over the paper bag.
