Cop dies of COVID ahead of retirement

Based on the PNP data, the 54-year old police official assigned to one of the Regional Maritime Units of the Maritime Group died on October 5 after days of battling the health complications brought about by the coronavirus infection.The death of the male police official came as 32 new cases were reported based on the latest result of the swab test released to the PNP. Thirteen of the new cases came from Metro Manila, six from Bicol, and five from Central Luzon.

Most of those infected got the virus while deployed in the frontlines, manning border control points, or conducting community patrol.
