Philippine National Police chief General Dionardo Carlos has ordered a deeper investigation into the shootout at a cockpit arena in Batangas over the weekend, which resulted in the deaths of a policeman and three armed men.
A statement issued by PNP public information office chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Balba identified the slain policeman as Pat. Gregorio Panganiban. It also identified the three dead armed men as Joel Herjas, Rolly Herjas and Gabriel Bahia. Balba said that during the exchange of gunfire, two civilians identified as Joselito Carlum, 45, and Mayumi Dunaway, 19, were also wounded.
The cases of disappearance are currently being investigated by a committee in the Senate chaired by Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
