With 230 congressmen voting in the affirmative, the Lower Chamber on Wednesday passed on third and final reading House Bill 6589 which will amend the Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980 or Batas Pambansa Blg. 129.
First level courts include the Metropolitan Trial Courts , Municipal Trial Courts in Cities ; Municipal Trial Courts and Municipal Circuit Trial Courts. Under the bill, first level courts may now resolve civil actions of real property with an assessed value not exceeding P400,000, from the current P50,000 maximum.
