Commuters in Metro Manila struggled to catch a ride from one city to the other, with some having to wait for several hours on Monday due to limited public transportation caused by the community quarantine over threats of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a video he posted on Facebook which garnered more than 100,000 reactions in just two hours, passengers were seen close to each other and face to face inside a bus.This occurred despite the “social distancing,” or keeping at least a meter away from each other, and a limit of passengers in every public transportation, which was required by the government to prevent catching COVID-19.

“Pero pagdating ng Commonwealth, may iba naman na nakakaligtas sa nanghuhuli at nagsasakay sila dun,” she added. The government placed Metro Manila under a 30-day quarantine since Sunday, March 15. But it was only on Monday, the start of the work-week, when commuters started to feel its effect.
