Those running in the May 2022 polls better be careful in accepting campaign donations.

The Commission on Elections said contributions from foreigners and foreign corporations are prohibited.

The poll official issued the statement in reaction to the launch of the crowdfunding page for the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.“Commissioner Guanzon is correct. Contributions from foreigners and foreign corporations are prohibited,” he said. “Kailangan i-report lahat yan , and if they accept donations from prohibited donors, they could be facing an electoral offense charge which could result in disqualification,” he said.
