The Commission on Elections said registered overseas voters who had to move after the close of the registration period to another country or area under the jurisdiction of another Post can still vote if said Post is implementing personal voting.

The Commission on Elections said registered overseas voters who had to move after the close of the registration period to another country or area under the jurisdiction of another Post can still vote if said Post is implementing personal voting. The Comelec said this is by using the Manifestation of Intent to Vote in Another Post mechanism.

Poll Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said this is one of the initiatives of the Office for Overseas Voting to increase the number of voter turnout. “So if you are an overseas voter in Singapore but on election day you happen to be in another Post example Hong Kong, all you have to do is file a manifest of intent to vote in that Post,” he said in a press briefing in Manila, Wednesday, April 6.

“That is one way to increase the voter turnout. Somehow it will increase the voter turnout of our overseas voting,” Casquejo added. The Comelec has set the overseas voting from April 10, 2022 to May 9, 2022.
