The Philippine Coast Guard in Cebu (PCG-Cebu) warned the public of unauthorized individuals and groups allegedly selling fake permits for the upcoming fluvial procession on Saturday, January 14, 2023. CDNDigital FiestaSeñorSaCDND

“It has come to our attention that there may be individuals attempting to sell fake or unauthorized permits for the event,” PCG-Cebu said in a statement issued on Wednesday, January 11.

PCG-Cebu reiterated that the only its office is authorized to provide permits for those who want to join the fluvial procession. PCG-Cebu also said that registration is free, and those who want to join the religious event this Saturday may visit their office at Pier 3, or contact them through the hotlines they provided.

“We strongly caution the public against purchasing permits from any unverified or unofficial sources, as such permits will not be valid and may result in legal consequences,” they added.As one of the highlights of the month-long celebration, the images of the Snr. Sto. Niño and Our Lady of Guadalupe will be sailing down Mactan Channel once again before proceeding to the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño de Cebu.
