But since the emergence of technology and the internet, there has been an increasing demand for accessible computers in public libraries.Luckily enough for students and residents in Manila, a hardware and electronics company on Monday turned over 42 desktop computers to newly renovated public libraries in the city. This was made possible through Acer Philippines Inc.’s memorandum of agreement with local officials.

“It is an honor for Acer to partner with the City of Manila in promoting access to quality education. We are proud of Mayor [Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso’s] efforts to make digital education more accessible to Manileños …,” said Manuel Wong, Acer managing director.“Every day, around 50 students go to the Manila-Sacramento Friendship Library to do research [for their homework]. The acquisition of these new units would be a great help to them,” said Ma.
