Police Major Melvin Madrona, who was also chief of the Negros Occidental CIDG, is accused of extorting P5,000 from a KTV bar. Records from the Quezon City Police District showed Madrona was removed from his post for beating up a motorist in 2017. Madrona had previously been involved in a mauling incident wherein he allegedly beat up a motorist in front of his police precinct in 2017, over a traffic altercation.
