The Philippine Space Agency urged the public to “take the necessary precaution” against the unburned debris of a Chinese rocket launched into space on Monday.

PhilSA said the debris was not expected to fall on land features or inhabited areas but may still pose danger and potential risk to “ships, aircraft, fishing boats, and other vessels that will pass through the drop zone." PhilSA warned against retrieving or coming in close contact with the debris as they may contain remnants of toxic substances such as rocket fuel. Sightings of suspected rocket remnants should also be reported to local authorities, it added.
