-- A 44-year-old man confined in a hospital in Manila died Saturday, February 1, due to 2019 novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease .

“They are both confirmed residents from Wuhan, China. He experienced symptoms of fever, cough and sore throat before being admitted at the San Lazaro Hospital,” WHO Philippines said on its Facebook post. Last January 31, the DOH, which lead an inter-agency task force on 2019-nCoV ARD, recommended a temporary China-wide travel ban aside from the city of Wuhan and Hubei province.
