THE development of the coronavirus disease 2019 vaccine in China is moving forward as its government reassured the Philippines and other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations that they will remain a priority once the vaccine is approved.
Sinovac has conducted trials in Brazil and the Middle East, and is applying for trials in Indonesia and Turkey. Sinopharm, however, is “willing to sell, for procurement, so that means that they are willing to share, which means, they have to wait for approval from the [NMPA] and the results, if acceptable to the Philippine FDA, and the Philippines is willing to buy from them, they are willing to do so,” Sta. Romana said.
