China rejects the appeal of Philippine foreign affairs chief Teddy Boy Locsin Jr. to recognize the 2016 arbitration ruling on the disputed South China Sea, following the fourth anniversary of the historic decision on Sunday

World superpower China denied the appeal of the Philippines on Monday to recognize the 2016 arbitration ruling on the disputed South China Sea.the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines emphasized the Permanent Court of Arbitration’s decision favoring the Philippines over China’s sweeping claims of the South China Sea is “illegal and invalid.”

Beijing highlighted that both countries already have a compromise in handling the issue, with the establishment of the Bilateral Consultation Mechanism on the South China Sea.
