Cebu City opens new vaccine sites in Punta Princesa, Bonbon

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebu City has opened two additional vaccination sites in the mountain barangays that will be open one day at a time to cater to residents in the upland

Councilor David Tumulak, the point person for the vaccine sites, said that the sites would open for a day each to cater to the barangays near it.The site at Don Bosco Punta Princesa Campus will be open on June 18, 2021, for residents of Barangays Punta Princesa, Buhisan, Pamutan, and Toong.

On Saturday, June 19, 2021, a site in the Barangay Bonbon gym will also open for the residents of the nearby mountain barangays.“Naa tay 1,000 doses para sa duha ka sites. Expected gyod na nga mas gamay ang magpavaccine sa ilaha as compared sa atong sites diri sa ubos,” said Tumulak in a phone interview with CDN Digital.

(We have 1,000 doses for the two sites. We are expecting a fewer number of people to get vaccinated as compare to the other sites here in the lowlands)Only Sinovac vaccines are being administered at the sites as this is the only brand that does not require sophisticated storage requirements.

Next week, two more mountain sites will open, this time at the North District, for the barangays in that area as well.The two sites will also open on a Friday and Saturday for the residents.Tumulak said the city had personnel to spare as only three sites would currently be operating in the urban areas including two University of Cebu campuses in J. Alcantara and Banilad as well as Robinsons Galleria.
