CEBU CITY - Cebu Mayor Edgardo Labella announced Sunday that there are 40 new COVID-19 cases in the city.

Of this number, 22 came from Barangay Luz, which the authorities earlier tagged as the city’s epicenter for coronavirus infections.

Labella attributed the increase in the number of cases to their expanded mass testing which included nearby sitios. Those identified as positive have been transferred to the Barangay Isolation Centers. The city has identified 19 schools as the isolation centers. These are for those patients who are either asymptomatic or those who only show mild symptoms.
