Nieto said the municipal government will provide the basic needs of residents of the locked-down households for the 14 days of their home quarantine. As of July 27, 111 houses have been identified as the residences of active cases. The implementation of the lockdown on the households came as reports reached Mayor Nieto’s office that some family members of COVID-19 patients were seen leaving their residences even after being told to strictly observe home quarantine measures.

The Mayor’s Action Team of the municipal government will regularly check the households that have been locked down to ensure that the daily needs of the family members are being given them. Nieto also reminded the residents that it is mandatory to wear a face mask while in public, and those arrested for violating this rule will be jailed for 24 hours in the municipal government facility. As of July 27, there were 111 active cases out of the total 367 confirmed cases recorded by the municipal government.
