CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, Tuguegarao City – The Barangay Chairman of Peñablanca, Cagayan together with three others survived a gun attack by two unidentified men along National Highway in Barangay Quibal .
The victims were Bonifacio Caliguiran, 69, barangay chairman of Nanguillattan, Peńablanca, Cagayan, his wife Marvie Caliguiran, 55, John Rey Caluigiran, 13, and Armelante Collado, 34. According to a belated report, the incident took place in Barangay Quibal, Peñablanca on Wednesday when a motorcycle rider overtook the rescue service used by the victims and fired successive gun shots towards them.
Pieces of evidence collected at the crime scene include a slug recovered below the driver’s seat, a slug and one live ammunition at the pavement.Peńablanca Philippine National Police is still conducting a thorough follow-up investigation for the possible identification of the suspect/s and to determine the motive in the attack.
