The bicameral Commission on Appointments confirmed today September 1 the appointments of 19 Department of Foreign Affairs officials led by eight ambassadors and 39 ranking officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines .

The confirmation during a CA plenary session chaired by Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III, concurrent CA chairman, was based on the recommendation of Senator Panfilo M. Lacson, chairman of the CA Foreign Affairs committee, and Rep, Luis Ferrer IV, chairman of the CA National Defense committee.

Also confirmed as Chiefs of Mission Class I were Narciso Teodoro Castaneda and Gina Alagon Jamoralin and Nina Padilla Cainglet, Maria Theresa Sta. Maria Lazaro, Porfirio Maralit Mayo Jr. and Ivan Frank Modequillo Olea as Chiefs of Mission, Class II .The CA, likewise, confirmed Jose Augusto V. Villareal, George L. Banzon, Steve D. Crespillo, Danilo D. Benavides and Jeffrey M. Vilela as Brigadier Generals.The others were colonels and one commodore.
