Britney Spears is requesting that her privacy be respected after an incident with the authorities. Some concerned fans have allegedly left calls to the police, prompting them to do a"wellness check" on the popstar in her home.could be in danger after she deleted her Instagram account.

"As everyone knows, the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls. I love and adore my fans, but this time, things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded," Britney tweeted on Thursday, Jan. 26. While she confirmed that the police didn't enter her home and that they left immediately once they saw that nothing was amiss, it made her feel like she was"being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news," as well as being"portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media."

"During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward," Britney ended.
