Britain is the worst-hit country outside of the US and Brazil. But it STILL won't wear masks

of airborne transmission of the coronavirus, senior scientists are urging Britons to take up mask wearing, as two new reports highlight the potential effectiveness of facial coverings.

It found that in late April in the UK around 25% of people wore face masks or coverings in public places. This is staggeringly low compared to 83.4% in Italy and 63.8% in Spain in the same period.

"People may rightly ask why you have to wear a mask on a train but not in a shop. If guidance is inconsistent people will follow their own preferences," Ramakrishnan said. He argued British people might"not really understand the benefits or are not convinced of them." "Everyone should maintain a 2-meter distance wherever possible. Meanwhile, President Jair Bolsonaro is being sued for removing his mask during an interview in which he announced that he has the coronavirus.
