President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reminded the PNP on Monday not to allow dishonesty and abuse to influence their work. | NAMercadoINQ

At the 121st Police Service anniversary celebration in Camp Crame, Marcos said the police force’s role in the preservation of peace and order is “pivotal” in the administration’s plans to change the lives of Filipinos.“I enjoin all of you to give it your best as you always have without sacrificing your integrity as servants of the people… Let us continue to conduct our business with utmost integrity and accountability,” Marcos said in his speech.

“And let us not allow even a hint of dishonesty and abuse to enter into that narrative. You are the vanguards of peace you are and that you set the example of the kind of leaders that we need to overcome the hindrances of today,” the President added.

There was no live broadcast of the morning visit by Blinken at the presidential palace in Manila on the state-run TV network, which showed a local agricultural program and later reported on the the visit of America's top diplomat in a brief newscast. The presidential office later released photographs showing Marcos Jr. greeting Blinken with a handshake and the two huddled in a meeting with their officials where Marcos Jr. mentioned he was surprised by the turn of events related to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan this week.
