The Bureau of Customs , Port of Davao together with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency , Regional Office XII nabbed a claimant of Kush and Liquid Marijuana worth P 1.3 million during a delivery operation on July 27, 2022.

A team composed of the Port’s Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service , and Enforcement Security Service and PDEA operatives conducted the controlled delivery which resulted in the apprehension of the alleged consignee. The shipment which was originally declared as cooking set, was shipped from Folsom, United States of America. Examination revealed that the package contained 927 grams of Kush or high-grade marijuana and 22 pcs of vape cartridge containing liquid marijuana with an estimated market value of Php 1,297,800 million.

An ongoing investigation is underway against the claimant for possible violation of Section 1114 of RA 10863 also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act and RA 9165 also known as the Anti-illegal Drugs Act. BOC Davao continues to intensify its efforts against the entry of illegal drugs in the country under the leadership of Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria and Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon L. Ruiz.
