tv Employees of the Bureau of Customs who are involved in illegal drugs should be subjected to the death penalty once it is reinstated, Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa said Monday.

Dela Rosa, who is pushing for the return of capital punishment for drug traffickers, said Monday "protectors and coddlers" of the narcotics trade are included in his death penalty bill for drug traffickers. "Kasama na 'yan sa bill na 'yan. Halimbawa, ma-prove natin isang empleyado ng Bureau of Customs kasabwat sa pagpasok ng shabu dito sa ating bansa. Well, he's a principal by conspiracy. He conspired to traffic that drugs to our country so the offense of one is the offense of all," he said.

Dela Rosa also said he wants death by firing squad for convicted drug traffickers to deter criminals from involvement in the illegal drug trade. The neophyte lawmaker used to lead President Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs during his time as police chief.
