After casting switches and many production studio jumps, Barbie is ready for her time on the big screen through a live-action film. Since 2009, talks about bringing to life Mattel’s famous doll has been circulating and finally, the moment is near. If you’re as excited as we are about the coming of the “Barbie” film, here are some of the things every fan should know about it before entering the fantastic world of Barbie Land.

The thing is, the movie is partly set in the fictional Barbie Land, which showcases multiple Barbies and Kens. On April 4, Warner Bros. Pictures unveiled the rest of the film’s cast which includes Hari Nef, Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Anna Cruz Kayne, Sharon Rooney, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Nicola Coughlan, Alexandra Shipp, and Ritu Arya as different versions of Barbie. While Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, Simu Liu, and Ncuti Gatwa as Kens.

The “Barbie” film will also feature human characters to be played by America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Connor Swindells, and Jamie Demetriou. Will Ferrell will be playing the CEO of Mattel and Helen Mirren as the narrator of the film.Leading the film is Oscar-nominated director Greta Gerwig. The 39-year-old filmmaker is known for her films such as “Lady Bird” and “Little Women” 2019. She co-penned the screenplay with her husband Noah Baumbach.

The fisrt teaser, released on Dec. 16, 2022, presented girls playing with dolls in a pre-historic-like setting.
