Isuzu not only brought the D-Max EV concept pickup truck at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show. Also making its way to Southeast Asia is the zero-emissions Elf EV.
We first saw the all-electric version of the seventh-generation model when Isuzu revealed it in Japan in 2023. It was developed under the concept of “Isuzu Modular Architecture and Component Standard” which is meant for medium and big trucks in various configurations, particularly those with the Center Drive System EV in mind.
The electric powertrain of the Elf EV comes with regenerative braking which can recharge the battery while on the go. However, it also comes with a ChadeMo charging system as standard. In the future, Isuzu plans to prepare optimal charging standards based on which country the vehicle will operate. In fact, Isuzu is already busy developing a CCS2 charger for the European market.
