Former Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat tells Filipinos it's time voices from a variety of sectors get elected to the government as he eyes a Senate seat in next year's elections.
"Let's bring in other voices... Let's also bring in variety in our national discourse because the reason why we are not having a lot of progressive laws that address the roots of our problems is because we have the elite class in the Senate," the senatorial aspirant told CNN Philippines’ The Final Word.
If elected in the 2022 polls, Baguilat said he would represent sectors that do not normally have adequate representation in the chamber - like the Indigenous Peoples and farmers. He stressed that the lack of progressive measures has greatly affected these marginalized groups that are only given band aid solutions to issues they are facing.
Baguilat also said he will continue pushing for measures that support gender expression and promote anti-discrimination.
Teddy Baguilat is like a japanese soldier fighting a long lost war, worse all of his comrades have jumped ship, from a yellow submarine to the pink love bus.
Another person from the upper class saying thing he thinks lower class people want to here to achieve financial gains of office at the expense of the very people he claims to represent. Typical Filipino politics.
Long overdue. Better than perpetuating dynasties and 'recycled' politicians.
MAGPAKITANG GILAS MUNA KAYO..WAG MABULAKLAK NA BIBIG
