THE municipal government of Dipaculao in Aurora province has suspended work and classes due to the ongoing encounter between the Philippine Army and the New People's Army (NPA).

THE municipal government of Dipaculao in Aurora province has suspended work and classes due to the ongoing encounter between the Philippine Army and the New People's Army .Armed clashes have been reported from at least four barangay in Dipaculao, prompting Mayor Franklin Ferrer to issue a memorandum on Monday, May 20, to suspend work and classes for the entire town.Residents from affected villages have also been evacuated to safer grounds.

'In the interest of public service and in view of the safety of the people of the local government unit of Dipaculao due to the encounter currently happening at barangay Toytoyan, it is hereby declared that the work and classes within the municipality of Dipaculao, Aurora be suspended until further notice,' Reyes said in his memorandum.
