Audi's new EV plant in China will be carbon neutral - Auto News

Audi is aggressively keeping pace with their ‘Vorsprung 2030’ electrification strategy. The brand with four rings has announced that a new dedicated EV plant will begin construction in China this year. It will begin production by 2024.

As part of their Mission:Zero program, the plant will be carbon dioxide neutral and will use a completely new IT architecture. Production areas at the plant will include a press shop, body construction, paint shop, and final assembly line in addition to an in-house battery assembly. It will have the capacity to make 150,000 electrified vehicles annually.

This EV manufacturing plant is under the newly-formed Audi-FAW NEV Company Ltd., and will be the first to fully focus on nothing but electric Audi vehicles using the Premium Platform Electric .
