British drugs group AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford said their jointly-developed vaccine against COVID-19 has shown 'an average efficacy of 70%' in trials.

British drugs group AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford on Monday, November 23, said their jointly-developed vaccine against COVID-19 has shown"an average efficacy of 70%" in trials.

It added:"One dosing regimen showed vaccine efficacy of 90% when AZD1222 was given as a half dose, followed by a full dose at least one month apart." AstraZeneca said it is looking at a capacity of up to 3 billion doses of the vaccine in 2021 pending regulatory approval.
