PBA veterans Calvin Abueva, Terrence Romeo, Moala Tautuaa and Jason Perkins are staying at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna despite the uncertainty surrounding their participation in the 19th Asian Games set to start on September 26 in Hangzhou, China.

The four PBA stars have been replaced by San Miguel veterans Marcio Lassiter and CJ Perez, along with Kevin Alas of NLEX and NorthPort's Arvin Tolentino pending the final word coming from the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee.'From what I understand, we are still finding avenues to try to get them in. The word we've gotten just immediately is probably they won't be available.

However, as it turns out later, a new list of 37 players was submitted to the organizers which didn't have Terrence Romeo and Mo Tautuaa's names it. This prompted Cone to look for new players with the Asian Games men's basketball set to start in a week.Gilas team manager Alfrancis Chua explained that bringing in Ross, Perez, Alas and Tolentino, as well as Marcio Lassiter to take the spot of Roger Pogoy was some sort of an insurance should Abueva and Co.
