The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) said government agencies that failed to submit their Citizen's Charter until Friday would have to process all kinds of transactions for three days, saying it will not be extending the deadline for the submission of their charters.

The Anti-Red Tape Authority said government agencies that failed to submit their Citizen’s Charter until Friday would have to process all kinds of transactions for three days, saying it will not be extending the deadline for the submission of their charters. In a Facebook live video, ARTA Director-General Jeremiah Belgica made the statement as the office closed its doors for the submission of Citizen’s Charters by government agencies as required by the Ease of Doing Business Act.

The charter would also classify the simple transactions which give a government office only three working days to process applications; complex transactions, seven working days; and highly technical applications; 20 working days. Moreover, Belgica added that the government agency would, in consequence, be violating the law if they ask an applicant for requirements since they do not have a Citizen’s Charter that tells an applicant to do so.“Kung hingan kayo ng mga requirements na wala naman sa Citizen’s Charter nila, lumalabag sa batas ,” he said.In a separate Facebook post, Belgica said ARTA’s Compliance Monitoring and Evaluation Office staked out until 12 a.m.
