ANGELES CITY—The Philippines struck its first gold medal in Southeast Asian Games arnis on Sunday, thanks to Dexter Bolambao who defeated his Burmese opponent in the men’s full contact under 55 kilogram division.
Bolambao swished his way against Paing Soc to win via unanimous decision at Angeles University Foundation. “Sobrang saya ko at natupad ko ang pangarap ko,” said a beaming Bolambao, who screamed with glee after hearing the judges’ verdict.Also vying for gold on Sunday are Nino Talledo , Villardo Cunamay and Mike Banares
