Archer Agustina Bantiloc became the latest Filipino to earn a ticket to the 2024 Paris Paralympics after qualifying in the women’s compound event. The Philippine Paralympic Committee announced the development on Saturday, June 8, after the 55-year-old Bantiloc qualified through Bipartite Commission Invitation which gives four individual berths for eligible athletes.The native of Baguio City also achieved the Minimum Qualification Standard despite not reaching the final round of the Para Archery Olympic Qualifiers in Bangkok, Thailand last year.

Last year, Bantiloc, along Marzel Burgos, led the Philippines to its first podium finish in the said event where they outlasted South Koreans Jin Young Jeong and Hwang Sung Ki, 143-139, to take the bronze in the Compound Open Mixed category. Bantiloc will join taekwondo jin Allain Ganapin and swimmers Angel Otom and Ernie Gawilan in the Paralympics slated Aug. 28 until Sept. 8.
