The Antipolo City local government helped a young woman return to her hometown in Bicol after the person who hired her as a housemaid abandoned her in the city.

In his Facebook post, Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares identified the woman as Aicon Flor, 18, a resident of Lidong Presentacion, Camarines Sur, Bicol.

According to the mayor, Flor was first seen by members of the city’s Office of Public Safety and Security roaming around the city’s plaza and sleeping beside Antipolo Cathedral. Upon her rescue, Flor said she left Bicol for the first time so she could earn money to help her two jobless parents finance the studies of her two younger siblings.

The city government then coordinated with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Lidong Presentacion CamSur to locate Flor’s family.
