An alleged leader of the Abu Sayyaf was killed and three policemen were injured after authorities tried to arrest the suspect who is facing multiple charges in Tawi-Tawi on Tuesday morning.In a 24 Oras report on Wednesday, a gun battle occurred in the town of Tandubas when operatives of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group tried to issue an arrest warrant to suspect Alyas Adan.
According to authorities, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun shot and fired at the approaching arresting team. He also threw a grenade, police said.Two relatives of the suspect were also killed during the incident. They were declared dead on arrival at a hospital.Meanwhile, the wounded policemen were declared to be in good condition.Police said the suspect has 21 warrants of arrest, four counts of frustrated murder, and 17 counts of murder.
